ECCO/GED Graduation 2024 FAQ’s
When is graduation? Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Venue 252. (252 Lawrence Street, Eugene)
Graduates must be at Venue 252 no later than 6:00 p.m. If you are late, you may miss being in the class
picture and risk not being able to walk with your class. Families will be admitted to the venue beginning at
6:15 p.m. A schedule for the full day is on Page 2 of this handout.
What should I bring?
Please try to limit the number of personal items you bring with you. We will have combs, bobby pins,
hairspray, etc. on hand for you to use. Please ask a friend or family member to hold on to anything that is
valuable.
Graduate Breakfast: We will have a catered breakfast for all graduates at 9 a.m. the day of graduation.
Please arrive at ECCO at 8:45, and we will take you over to the auditorium at the district office for
breakfast. If you have special dietary needs, please let Valerie know.
Rehearsal: Rehearsal will be held directly after breakfast, and will last about 1-1 ½ hours. You can walk, or
drive to rehearsal; we will NOT be taking a bus, as we announced earlier. Participation in rehearsal is
required for participation in the ceremony. Any rare exceptions must be cleared through Scott.
Tickets: Tickets will be available May 22. Each graduate will be allotted 8 tickets. You may pick up
tickets once you have completed your graduation requirements (including your senior project) or
passed your GED tests. If you need more than 8 tickets, please contact Valerie.
Caps & Gowns: The same criteria as above; you will receive your cap & gown once all of your
g ra d u a t i o n requirements have been completed. We have purchased caps and gowns; they are
yours to keep. You may decorate your cap as long as it is school appropriate and is not distracting.
The design must be two-dimensional; nothing standing up or hanging from your cap. Plain caps will
be exchanged the night of graduation for caps that are not appropriate.
What do I wear under my gown? Please wear school appropriate clothing. During the ceremony, your
gown must be zipped up and you will need to wear your cap.
Parking on Graduation Night: Parking is free in the lot across from Venue 252, but a parking pass will be
needed. I have enclosed two with your student’s cap & gown, please let me know if you need more.
There is also limited on-street parking in the area.
Seating Accommodations or Translation Services: Please contact Valerie at 541-790-6850, or
falleur_v@4j.lane.edu if you have family members who need seating accommodations or translation
services.
Pictures: Lifetouch will take a class picture at 6:15 p.m., as well as individual pictures of each student as
they receive their diploma. Lifetouch will provide prices and order information at the event.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT bring confetti, poppers, silly string, beads or similar items to graduation. Please be
aware that there is NO SMOKING OR VAPING ALLOWED at this property. Thank you for following this
policy.
Important Dates:
Caps, gowns, and tickets will be available May 22. If you have completed your graduation requirements,
